Jane Byers - Poet and Writer
Jane has been writing poems and short stories from the wild places for over 20 years. Her writing explores the intersection of our inner landscapes and our natural environments with courage and piercing insight. Jane’s poetry is a vehicle in which to be present in the moment. Her poetry strips away and distills words to their essence allowing one to see common objects or experiences anew.

Jane lives in Nelson BC with her family Amy, Franny, Theo and Darwin. As a hands-on parent and a full time vocational rehabilitation consultant Jane makes the time to write whenever possible.

Jane’s poetry is published in Horsefly Literary Journal, Fireweed and Our Times  Magazine. Jane is a two time winner of the Nelson District Arts Council Writing Competition in 2006 and 2007.
